Today we went from Aurora Kakadu to Shady Glen Tourist Park in Darwin.
We got away very early and went to the Mary River for a late breakfast. We saw 4 Army tanks,2 Army Water carriers, A target holder and a lot of other Army trucks.
After we got out of Kakadu we went to “A Window To The Wetlands,” an information centre on the Mary River wetlands. there was lots of information on crocodiles, birds, fish, turtles and all the other animals that live on the wetlands. You get a mudskipper’s view of a mangrove swamp, see turtles and fish and find out a lot of information on Saltwater Crocodiles.
When we got into Darwin,we had a look at the City Centre and went on a walk along part of the harbour. We drove around the Army base area and along the spit.
We booked into Shady Glen and Dad went shopping for supplies. We saw a spider on a leaf that had a 15 cm leg span and Elliot and Izzy got freaked out.
Dinner was roast chicken followed by a Red Sunset caused by the smoke caused by the fires. We are right on the path of the planes flying in and out of Darwin Airport so we have planes flying over our head every 5 minutes. Darwin is looking very tourist-friendly, but it is still a nice place to be.
Louis.
